Before you do anything switch to advanced toolbars and try to get familiar with that.
Above shows my toolbars, I have 5 set up and just click on tabs to get the catagory I need.
Customize Toolbars

Right click on tool bar at top and a menu will open. At the bottom of that menu select "customize"
Add a Toolbar
Highlight a Toolbar and it will now show toward the top of this window where my curser arrow is.
You can drag icons into this bar. Find the icons in the list in the lower left corner.
Above shows my standard toolbar. Here is some of the icons I have added in:
Font Toolbars
Table
In my tools toolbar I added a Color picker, spell check and more.
Under the search tab at very top is a handy tool I find most usefull for making many changes.
It is a "replace" option. Just hight light the text you want to change, and add the new name and start clicking.
The Split screen comes in handy sometimes when you know where you
are in the code and need to selct large areas for moving.
Source and Preview are the two main tabs you should use to switch back and forth,
the latter to see what it looks like when published.
