This website was built and is maintained by David J. Tackett, Sterling Illinois. He is the cartoonist who makes the fishing cartoons, the artists who makes all the art and wallpapers on this website, photographer who takes all the photos on this website. These days most websites forums and blogs are either bought and designed by someone else, or they use premade templates that their webhosts supply which takes no knowledge of code or web design. People buy a website, pay to have it built by a third party, pay to get optimization and they sit back and do very little except add content, which is also dependent on visitors supplying photos, content they take off the internet or content they buy off the internet. Well fisheadtackle is all done by one person, Dave Tackett, and he does everything himself.

Fisheadtackle has been in business since 2000, starting out as a small website that has been built up ever since. Now people are stealing this name and starting their own websites called fishead tackle. They are in no way connected to this site. The websites that are connected are Walleye DVD.com, Fisheadcartoons.com and Bigfootape.com. This site also has a forum and a Blog.

For entertainment this website offers fishing cartoons, art and photos. I make fishead cartoons and have a few hundred on line. I used to make one cartoon everyday but since I am babysitting I had to stop. Sometimes I make a new cartoon and post it, and I hope to start making a weekly cartoon in the future. I have been so busy fishing this year I just haven't had the time for cartoons and art. I also make art pictures in photoshop which make great wallpapers which I offer on this site. These also make T-shirts, prints, calendars, and other products in my zazzle store. One thing I have been working on is my photos. These are over-looked by most visitors, but you can find the largest collection of photos of the Mississippi River, Lake Erie, Sterling Rockfalls Illinois and flower photos. I take photos every time I go fishing, and if I don't go fishing I take photos of the flowers in my garden. I have hundreds of photos on line and these are available in wallpaper size for computer background screens.

Fisheadtackle has been selling on line since 2002 using paypal. We also except other payments, just send us an email.

Fisheadtackle offers fishing DVDs made by fisheadtackle, trolling sinkers designed by fisheadtackle that you can't get anywhere else and they work better than any other we have used. We also off custom art, cartoons and logos.

There are a lot of logos and custom art out there that I have made. Many of my cartoons have been used in shows, on T-shirts and other occasions. My art pictures are available to purchase and I can add text or whatever you need. My photos are also for sale. Please contact me.

I started this website to sell Trolling Sinkers but now I offer DVDs, custom artwork and website design, website, video and graphics consultation.

My stores: Cartoons: I have a couple Fishing Cartoon ebooks online now. One is a digital coloring book, and all my cartoons are available on CD. These are also available in my Zazzle store on many products.

Fishing Art: My art pictures are available on a cd The subjects include, Bass, walleye, Catfish, Peacock Bass, Crappie, Panfish, Nightsky and more. These are also available in my Zazzle store on many products.

Flower Photos for Computer Wallpaper Background Screens in my store: Flowers photos from 2008 & 2009 taken in "My Yard". These include many flowers that are natural to the Illinois, grown in Sterling. Also included are a few closeups of insects, or whatever else was going on during the season, some scenic river photos of the Rock River and the Mississippi River. These are also available in my Zazzle store on many products.

About the fisherman:

I used to fish tournaments ad on average I placed in the top five. I always covered a lot of water and asked no questions, I did it all on my own. I have won some of the tournaments I fished. I also let partners I drew out to fish with catch some of the big fish, I helped them, and sacrificed the win in doing so. The friends I had liked to follow and fish the spots I found.

When I made my first trip to Lake Erie, I took my bass boat and a tent and a map. I read about a big fish tournament weigh-in for Walleye and where I could stay at a park, and with that I headed out. I stopped by a bait shop to buy a license. I didn't ask any questions. I did look around to see what kind of tackle they sold. I now have two Walleye over 13 pounds on the wall and I catch at least one over ten every trip. I have caught thousands of Bass over 3 pounds, hundreds over 4 and dozens over 5 from Lake Erie. I came up with my own clip-on sinker rig, my own crawler rig, my own jigs and bass rigs.

I started fishing the Mississippi River in 1980. I have fished every pool from Keocock to LaCross and I covered every slough, lake and backwater I could find on a map. When the fish are biting, I go looking around to see where the biggest fish are. When the fish aren't biting, I look around for spots that look promising. I never stay on small fish. After doing this for decades, I can now take it easy and just go to my best spots. After doing so much hard work finding these spots I get angry when fisherman follow me, drop anchors on where they see me fish or lock me in with GPS.

Anyway, I needed to add a little about who I am. Two walleye over 11, dozens over ten, hundreds over 8 for Walleye. When I guide out my clients usually catch or hook one Walleye over 8 pounds. I fished Bass tournaments and Walleye tournaments, but Bass tournaments mostly. I fished lakes for bass at night for many years. I have caught hundreds of bass over 5 pounds, which is big around here, dozens over 7 and one eight pounder. I have caught many bass over 5 pounds on the river where most people never catch one. I used to fish year round, bass in the warm months, then Walleye until the river complete froze then ice fished.
