About the fisherman:
I started fishing the Mississippi River in 1980. I have fished every pool from pool 19 at Keocock to pool 8 at LaCross and I covered every slough, lake and backwater
I could find on a map.
I have caught numerous Walleye over 10 pounds on the Mississippi River and several over 11 pounds on Lake Erie.
I fished Bass tournaments and Walleye tournaments, but Bass tournaments mostly. I fished lakes for bass at night for many years.
I used to fish year round, bass in the warm months, then Walleye until the river complete froze then ice fished.
I worked at North western steel & wire for 30 years. I started at a bad time and couldn't get a bid so I was stuck in labor pool where I suffered several
back injuries.
On my last injury the mill put up such a fight that I ended up with no compensation and no social security. I had to take a medical retirement and the mill went bankrupt
2 weeks later and I lost a good portion of my pension and all of my insurance. more
