Fishing 2016

It’s been a tough Fall, but overall I am happy with all the fish I caught and spending most of my time getting photos really paid off. I caught so many Walleye on the Rock, Mississippi and Lake Erie that I actually got tired of catching them so I spent a lot of time bass fishing just for something different to do.

But most of all I just went out to get photos. I probably made a few dozen drifts from the dam down river to como. It’s funny how many guys came out looking for me, only tio find me with a camera in my hand and not a fishing pole. People just can’t believe I would go through all the trouble just to get photos, but I really enjoy it and find it very relaxing. I really enjoy just being outdoors, away from it all, always have. I enjoy the piece and quiet, listening ro all the sounds of nature. I was fortunate enough to have a mink family let me take photos of playing and fishing. I had several encounters with hawks, osprey, deer and other wildlife. It is quite satisfying to be trolling or drifting with a camera in hand and have a kingfisher fly by with a fish in its mouth. The only bad part of it is when boats come flying up to see what I’m doing and spooking the wildlife away. This happens almost every trip, depending where I go.

I caught so many Bass this year that I will be spoiled come next spring when I try to find a few bass to catch. But I don’t mind if I don’t find any because with photography it is always worth the trip.

I actually enjoyed the high water, it let me go back into places and get away from everyone. Sometimes I would find schools of fish eagerly taking what ever I offered. Sometimes I would catch Walleye, Bass, Stripers and Catfish all in the same spots. I make sure not to reveal where I am in my photos when I find fish, but when fishing is slow I take photos.

I don’t know what I will do with all my photos, most of the pictures I sell are of the fish. But I am accumulating quite a library. I don’t have the drive to do my web work as I used to, but I do keep them posted on my website. I just need top do a lot of sorting, which is hard because I keep adding photos faster than I can sort.

I am pretty much done with selling my dvds on ebay, it was nice getting the gas money but I can let that go. Too many people just wanted to know where I was fishing anyway. I could make new ones and teach people a lot but I just don’t trust anyone anymore, it’s all about ego and money these days.
