Bad Year for High Water Isn’t Going to Change

Well if you thought last year was bad, this year is proving to be worse. More heavy rain falls up north leaving us in the severe never ending drought while they get hammered up river. Makes a guy want to cry. This means another minimum of four weeks are shot. At least last year the river did drop to normal by mid summer, but there’s little chance it will happen this year because the cycle just won’t quit. Once they get the wet soil in a region, it just keeps raining and raining while we have the dry soil that eats up all the moisture before rain reaches us.

It was two years in a row just like these last two years that made me want to make my first trip to Lake Erie to get away from the muddy rivers. That was back in 1993/94. I may have to save my money and make a Fall trip because this cycle isn’t going to quit any time soon. Matter of fact, this could be one of those years where the Fall floods come, so you aint seen nothing yet!
