What a Coincidence, I was fishing a spot, and now you’re fishing that same spot

Gee, what a Coincidence, I was fishing a spot, and now you’re fishing the exact same spot! I say that at least once a day and many days I could say it a half dozen times. It’s amazing how many people move in on places I fish and it happens on a daily bases. Yesterday I covered a 15 mile stretch, hit 8 wingdams out of 30 I went by and not a boat fishing any of them. Twenty minutes later I head back the other direction and find five boats sitting on the exact same wingdams I just fished. A lot of these guys are Chicago people, and they don’t know where to fish so they just look for other fisherman to follow around. Many have cabins and they return every weekend, so once they steal a spot they live on it until someone else comes along to follow.

Click to enlarge and see they are both staring at me instead of paying attention to what they’re doing. There was 7 wingdams in one small area but they just had to move in on the exact same one they saw me fish. Surprise surprise, I came back and caught them along with the other four boats that moved in where they saw me fish.

I also had bass boats move in on me or cut me off. One met up with another boat heading to the locks. This could have been fisherman helping fisherman win a tournament. It is easy to just throw a few fish in the other boats open live well and then split. I was going to get the camera out and zoom them in but they were only side by side for a minute, just long enough to hand over fish. I saw one dark boat fishing by the main river, another white boat ran down river and met up with him. Then the dark boat headed up river and the white boat continued heading for the locks and locked through, obviously fishing a tournament.
