Fishing Bass Tournaments
I was looking all over for this photo. This was the start of a tournament one morning up at Prairie du Chien in Wisconsin. There was a Saturday tournament for partners,
then a Sunday singles tournament to draw out for a partner to compete against. We took third place. I wanted to save some of the fish I found so we moved out of the best
spot, otherwise we probably would have won it. I didn't do as well the Sunday Tournament. I drew out with a guy that fought me all day. It ended up being a fight against each other for
who's boat to take and which spots to fish. We took my boat and fished my spots because I was stubborn and didn't like being pushed. He didn't have any good spots found anyway.
I might have been small, but I was big headed. I doubt anyone worked as hard as I did. I would drive all night after working 3-11, then fish for a few days from sunrise to sunset
covering every back water lake and slough and main channel that I had time for, covering 40 miles of river. I may not have looked like a threat but come weigh-in time I usually
had a bag full of big fish and I almost always placed in the top 5 or at least in the money. I would have won a lot more tournaments but I always gave my partner fish. I may
have been a stiff competitor but I was always more fair than most people when it came to letting my partner catch fish.
A few photos of my Champion Bass Boat I used to have. I stopped and took a few photos one evening near Galena Illinois while on my way up to Wisconsin to practice for a
Bass tournament.
A photo of Spring Lake one spring. This is a good spot but it gets hammered by fisherman.
