The web has changed a lot over the last few years and there are now a lot of website designers and builders for a reasonable price, but one must be careful because there
are a lot of people and businesses that will take advantage of people who don't understand how it all works. So I will try to give a little insight to help people get going
in the right direction.
Most website hosts charge about $5 a month for a basic package for unlimited webpages.
This comes with domain name registration.
They offer easy to use templates and a site builder software.
They may offer an ftp uploader but you can buy one for around $20 a year.
You can get paypal with buying options for free.
Beware of sites that build it for you or offer drag and drop software, they may be selling you a subdomain of theirs and its not your own site at all. This can be troubling
when you want to change hosts, it may not be possible at all and so if they raise their prices you are stuck with them. I have been through this before with Homestead,
I wasted four years learning how to use their web builder for nothing, I had to start over and do it the right way and the cost were a fraction of what I was being charged
with Homestead. These sites may show a lot of traffic but the traffic is for all the subdomains they own, your site may never get the exposure you would get with a real website.
I can help you get going in the right direction or I can build a site for you at a reasonable price. I do make all my own art and take my own photos.
